Kambeo Hubs - Coming Summer 2022

Employee Spotlight: Scott Rowell

This month's employee spotlight features Scott Rowell—Product Developer & Designer at Kambeo. Get to know more about Scott and his journey with Kambeo.

Q: What is your current role at Kambeo?

I’m a Product Manager at Kambeo. I work with the design and development teams to create and implement features on Kambeo. Our company is still small, so I take on some responsibilities that a Scrum Master would, as well.

Those responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the development team, as well as detailing and organizing tasks into bite-sized chunks for our development team to work on and ensuring they have everything they need to complete those tasks.

Q: Why did you decide to work for Kambeo?

I originally started at Kambeo as a Front-End Developer when it was more or a less a hobby project around 4 years ago. I chose Kambeo because I really liked the idea of the platform, it sounded like something that could be really successful, so I wanted to be a part of it. Also, Kambeo’s team was very small at the time, which gave me a lot of freedom to be creative with the front-end experience and that appealed to me.

Q: What are a couple of features with the recent release of Kambeo Hubs that you are most excited about?

Real-time metrics for Kambeo Hubs is exciting to me. I think it’s really interesting to be able to display those metrics and have verifiable data to back them. It’ll be fun to watch Kambeo users increase those metrics over time.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about helping to design and develop an innovative social impact platform?

I’m a big fan of eSports and gaming in general. I’ve enjoyed creating and developing features and functionality that gaming organizations and streamers can use to help them run charity events and give back to causes they’re interested in.

Q: Tell us a couple of fun facts about yourself?

I’ve played drums since I was 8 years old, recorded a couple albums, and toured southern Ontario a little bit while I was in college.
